Author Guidelines

Author Responsibilities: For the JEER (Journal of Elementary Education Research) papers should attempt to present research, innovations, theoretical and/or practical insights in relevant current literature and debates. Submitted manuscripts should only be in Indonesian or English.

 

All submissions should be sent via OJS as a Word file with doc extension and maximum 4MB (do not use docx extention).

 

A manuscript should be no more than 10.000 words; this limit includes figures, references, and tables. This does not impose an absolute page limit on manuscripts; longer manuscripts of merit can be published in the journal. The abstract should be between 100 and 200 words.

 

Authors should be aware that they are addressing an international audience. Articles should present original work and, where appropriate, should acknowledge any significant contribution of others. Manuscripts submitted to JEER for review should not have been accepted for publication elsewhere. As an author, you are required to secure permission if you want to reproduce any figure, table, or extract from the text of another source. This applies to direct reproduction as well as "derivative reproduction" (where you have created a new figure or table which derives substantially from a copyrighted source).

 

The corresponding author should always be willing to participate in the peer review process and obliged to provide retractions or corrections of mistakes. A list of references should be included in the submitted paper. Grant/financial support should be stated in the paper if available. All authors are expected to contribute significantly to the research.

 

Page style: Articles should be typed in 12-point font on A4 page, paginated and single-spaced. Margins should be set as top & bottom: 2 cm and left & right 3 cm. The title should be followed by an abstract of 100 to 200 words and 3 to 7 keywords. Footnotes should be avoided and endnotes kept to a minimum. All pages should be numbered.

 

References: Paper format including references should follow American Psychological Association (APA) (6th Edition) style. Do not use non-English and non-indonesian titles or characters.

 

The manuscript should be the following criteria:

Articles which will be submitted in JEER is the result of the research in the field of basic education.

Title: Title of the article about the 15 words, give an overview of research that has been done (short, straightforward, informative, and represents the contents of the article), times new Roman 12, spacing 1, spacing after6 pt.

The author's name: complete without a title written and typed below the article title. If the author of more than one person, then added the next row.

Originally institutions /agencies: written in the name of the institution where working (University). Example: Sekolah Tinggi Agama Islam Pati.

Email address: write the email address is still active and is written under the origin of institutions / agencies.

Abstract: Written in two languages, namely Indonesian and English. Abstract contains a brief description of the problem (optional) and research objectives, methods used, instrument and data analysis, important findings, and implications of the research. Abstract writing pressure primarily on the research results. Typing abstract done with a single space with a narrower margin of right and left margins of the main text with approximately 200 words.

Keywords: Searchable by search engine, truly represents the intention of research. 3 to 7 keyword is recommended.

Systematics of writing the article the results of research are: introduction; method; results,  discussion, conclusions; references.

Introduction : consists of the urgency of research, supporting facts from previous studies, gap analysis, research status, the novelty of research, and research objectives. Directing the reader about the importance of the research. Presenting significant problems, a clear state of the art, gap analysis, and novel concepts to fill the gaps. End it with the purpose of research.

Method : Clear and replicable. Reveals how research objectives are achieved with the appropriate tools, procedures, and stages. The Method consists of research design, population, and sample, data source, data collection technique, data analysis technique. It is written in paragraph form.

Results : Presented are important data obtained from the results of data collection in the field (test results, questionnaires, interviews, documents, etc.). The results of the research can be supplemented with clear and readable tables, images/figure, or graphs to clarify the results of the research. Avoid presenting similar data in separate tables. All tables, images, and graphs must be centered and numbered sequentially. For qualitative research, the results section contains detailed sections in the form of sub-topics that are directly related to the focus of research and categories.

Discussion : The discussion is meaningful. Good discussion is written as a dialogue that reveals the progress of the research in comparison to previous researches. The discussion in the article aims to: (1) answer the problem formulation and research questions; (2) show how the findings were obtained; (3) interpreting findings; (4) linking research findings with established knowledge structures; and (5) raising new theories or modifying existing theories. In this section of the discussion must contain the benefits of the results of the study, not the repetition. The analysis must answer the stated gaps.

Conclusion : Contains a summary of research results (the most important research finding) that relates to the objectives written in the introduction. Presented briefly, narrative, and conceptual that describes the research findings and their effects. Avoid using numbering and symbols (bullet and numbering).

References : Accountable, about 80% of the literature from primary sources (reputable journals) and up to date (last 10 years), at least 20 references. Use reference management tools.

The Guidelines for Citation and References

  1. All the served data or quotes in the article taken from the other author articles should attach the reference sources.
  2. Writing citations and bibliography should use application management references such as Mendeley, End Note, Zotero or applications in Ms Word.
  3. Writing citations and bibliography using APA format (American Psychological Association) by using innote writing technique.
  4. All references used must be taken from the main source (national and international reputable scientific journals indexed by SCOPUS, Web of Science, and SINTA) and at least 80% of the reference amount used.
  5. Number of references at least 10 references.
  6. References used should be published in the last 10 years.
  7. Wikipedia, personal blog, and non scientific website are not allowed to be used as reference.
